MAYBE. I'm willing to bet she absorbs that eyewall trying to form if anything.

I’m not sure I buy an erc yet. If it were closer to the radar site then for sure. But at that distance the angle may just be picking up the top of one band in front of the eyewall. Structurally sound storms often look like this at a distance as well as ones undergoing erc. Recon will tell the tale

Not quite at the center yet either.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Honestly I am extremely concerned there won't be much if anything left in Cameron with it being right on the coast in the RFQ and 20 foot surge zone so I HOPE it's a ghost town right now

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Local weatherman predicting sustained winds up to 60mph and gusts 75-90mph in squalls for Lafayette. Hopefully I can keep power through the night, it's going to be a nail biter for sure.

That would be suicide. There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide when the surge comes in.

Chasers are already there and they are trapped in vehicles from the 2ft storm surge that has already arrived.

After reading what Piotrowski said about chasers already trapped by the surge, I'm am concerned that some of amateur storm chasers and thrill seekers do not have a good contingency and escape plan if things go bad, especially since the surge potential has doubled in height since last night.

Remember Adair's narrow escape from surge during Michael...that was unreal watching his vehicle bob up and down in the surge.

I was thinking of that but could not remember his name or company. Even some of the pro chasers can still find themselves in a bad situation. When his car started floating away, many of us thought it was the end. As scary as it was, the footage from his dash cam while his car was inundated with surge is hard to forget and a reminder of how fast one can get into a helpless situation.

With the terrain of SW Louisiana, this surge could set records by how far inland it goes.

Lots of chatter NW vs NNW, reviewing this radar presentation sure looks like the NNW motion has initiated... IMO

Oh boy, the eyewall started rotating a LOT quicker towards the end of that gif. A sign that winds are probably going to increase even more than they already have been.

Yes making the run for Cat 5 winding up tighter and tighter

I have to second that, there better not be any chasers in any area around Hwy 82.
