Nothing to suggest it has strengthened in the last ASCAT pass.

May not get a name at this point. I actually hate systems like this that don’t strengthen beyond Tropical Depression status, as they don’t really count in the end and go unnoticed and forgotten.

The following post is NOT an official forecast and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by storm2k.org.

I think it’ll get a name,..just barely. Everything’s gotten a name at this point lol and the NHC even thinks TD10 might’ve been at TS at some point haha
Buutt I think this could very well get Omar if Recon finds 99L to be very organized tomorrow.

To be honest if we DO start seeing a big uptick in activity we need every name we can get to avoid Hurricane Gamma or something wreaking havoc so I won't be too upset if it stays crappy looking and doesn't join Edouard and Kyle in the name waster club

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

I may have a chance for a name in the next 12 hours if it can fight the shear enough to be covered. After that it is a goner.

Nice convective burst and for the most part the center is tucking in under it (for the time being). I think it will hit TS level before all is said and done.

This crap washing over Bermuda today looks frontal rather than tropical, but we may see some of its band this time tomorrow.

A 32 kt ground station which would not have the best winds and they are waiting for ascat...
An earlier buoy report recorded adjusted maximum winds
of 32 kt, and roughly half of the estimates show that the depression
is a tropical storm. Conservatively, the winds will be held at 30
kt until we will see what the scatterometer shows this afternoon.

Do you think recon could find it in the South Eastern quadrant? ASCAT resolution isn't optimal.

Lotta deep convection, but if you look closely it seems as though the naked LLC is still to the NW of it. Much shear.

I could be wrong but I doubt recon would be scheduled for a weak system not expected to affect land.

Thought so bc I didn’t see it on their schedule today which was why I got confused others where mentioning it.
Doesn’t matter anyways since they just upgraded it to Omar

But whyyyyy
Atlantic seems desperate to get to the Greeks and just keeps throwing out things to eat names so we're out of names when the October big ones come apparently
