I saw a while ago where some places in the panhandle are over 12" now

:uarrow: That strong main feeder band looks just like what my area was under as hurricane Laura made landfall. I recorded 4.5" of rain in an hour before my power went out but thankfully it didn't stick around too long since Laura was trucking it. The same can't be said for Sally and I'm afraid 20"+ totals will be fairly widespread. Stay safe along the Alabama and NW Florida coasts tonight, you're in for a rough time.

Depends how it wobbles but it has been wobbling east. I still think perdido key with pensacola in NE eyewall.

That would equal about 80 kt at the surface - it's at 3,100 meters actually (10,000 feet).

And that eye is clearing out some more. The water vapor loop of this last set of hot towers firing up is impressive.

I'd say AL/FL border to P'Cola.

I'd say Florabama give or take 10 miles W/E. Stay safe Ivanhater!

We were just @ Port Side Villas on western Pensacola Beach in early August. I hope the surge doesn't top the dunes there but the beach had receded big time since the renourishment a few years ago :( .

Wondered that as well. Had just checked and didn’t see anything new.

Thats funny.. i was actually napping. Lol

I was charging all my stuff in prep for the night and took a quick nap.

We are still in perdido but are debating on moving farther east again.

In one respect we are in a potential great spot to caoture the surge but if it keeps moving on this more easterly heading we would miss that.

Dropsonde in the NE eyewall, 99 knot winds, but I doubt it when they haven't measured those winds not even at flight level.
