Cool, misty, and breezy here on the Northshore right now.

Probably nothing extreme, but a couple inches of rain and breezy if GFS is right.

Beta looks a little more NW than it should right now. Has anyone been plotting its movement?

Circulation is so broad. Wasnt this broad yesterday was it? Will help keep wind speeds and rapid development down.

The radar and latest visible satellite looks WWNW? What I mean is it looks right on track just a little too straight towards TX for me. https://mrms.nssl.noaa.gov/qvs/product_viewer/index.php?menu=/home/metop/web/specific/opv/menu_config.txt&time_mode=update&zoom=7&clon=-86.3984375&clat=30.082814994259&base=0&overlays=1&mping_mode=0&product_type=crefls&product=CREF&opacity=1&looping_active=on&num_frames=36&frame_step=200&seconds_step=600

Surprisingly, beta is actually looking pretty good on Houston radar. Quite the inner core, at least at the mid levels

I agree... strong storms have been consistent near the center for the last 12 hours.

Center appears to have relocated significantly farther west near the area of deep convection according to this latest recon pass.

Over the past few days the NHC forecasts, up until last night, have mentioned that Beta wasn't going to do much until today in terms of intensity so it really doesn't surprise me that it's trying to get better organized today. Seems to me like a high end TS or minimal CAT 1 will be the final peak. Just my opinion

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

I think we’ll get Beta-looking Greek storms than this later this season.

However, I’m pretty sure we’ll get another system that even more infuriating to track.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Appears to be a mid level eye feature on radar, as of the last few frames. I am guessing the mlc and llc have now stacked, allowing for this organization. We’ll see if this keeps up or if another blast of shear stops it
