I was kinda hoping this would be another Portugal or southern Spain runner, but looping back and getting over warmer water and regenerating yet again would be even more interesting.

That is insane! I wonder if this strange year has anything to do with the unfolding Grand Solar Minimum. We have little understanding of how it impacts the tropics other than greatly enhanced cloud formation.

Hard to wrap my brain around a "P" storm still being active when we are already into the Greek alphabet.

This is really just a tropical swirl at this point. No convection to speak of.

Does anyone have a link to the track data of Paulette while she was extratropical? Trying to add it all in to my own tracking map.

All track points should be in the best track file

I can't help wonder when looking at that how much the interaction with 91L and the monsoon trough shoving it north prevented further (and faster) intensification.

We may have gotten a record out of it at least--#16 and #23 active at once are seven storms apart, the most I know of is five with Georges (#7) and Karl (#11) in 1998.

Post-Paulette has an attached trough. Wonder what kind of effect it will have. This may become outdated, as the link image may change.

You can see that the burst of convection was caused interaction with that front.
