I'll say 180 mph and 899 mbar, just so it officially enters the Atlantic sub-900mb club, which hasn't had a new entry since Rita and Wilma in 2005.

There are only 5 Atlantic members of that club. The basin can only barely support it.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

NHC needs to issue an update statement and then special advisory at 12pm EDT to update projected peak. Guessing they will go 130-135 kt.

Looking like the streak of consecutive years with a Cat 5 has a pretty good shot at continuing. Delta is going berserk.

Recon can't seem to get enough of Delta. 3 center passes already and they're going South again so I think they might go for another one, right?

Did it just... completely skip over cat 3 strength and go straight up to a 4?

I always felt 2020 had to have a Cat 5. It just wouldn't make sense for it not to
