Although outside of this updated spatial map, TC development is imminent across the South China Sea and is likely to bring heavy rainfall to Vietnam. Model guidance supports moderate confidence of TC development to the east of the Philippines through October 13 and this area is expanded to include the South China Sea for the October 14 to 20 period.

Not just the Marianas system but another SCS system is forecast.

06z GFS now bottoms it out at 938 mb with development starting around 200 hours.

Past few runs had other systems including a low latitude system southwest of Guam but drops it.

The globals...CMC, NAVGEM, JMA, ICON, EURO...all show a TC or pressures dropping during the same time frame.

GFS also brings back the Luzon system. Makes landfall at 987 mb on the 20th.

After making landfall, it deepens it significantly in the SCS. Also develops 2 other systems behind it. The Marianas system is still there but timeframe pushed back.
