The NE quadrant is looking increasingly healthy.
I think Delta isn't done yet with her strenghtening phase.

It's presentation continues to look increasingly CCC-ish.
What is CCC-ish?

It’s definitely not CCC-like. A CCC wouldn’t have an obvious eye on IR.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

The fact the shear is supposed to pick up from the SW will push the most intense convection in south back to the north. I've been watching to see if it would close off again, and it has

As expected the lead tower connected with the eyewall.
Eye warmed really quickly after.

What happens when it slows down? Sorry, I'm an amateur here.
I can't believe how lucky we here in NOLA have been. We have dodged many storms this season.
My heart and prayers are with SW Louisiana, have relatives there riding it out, again.

Pretty scary looking tonight, my first good Satellite view. I just got in from El Dorado AR. , rain almost the entire 5 1/2 drive, small drops but it got heavy at times some lightening from Alexandria south.

Looks like on this latest update, they expect it to make landfall around 100 MPH

usually is a good indicator that it is about to turn...also in this case, slower might help weaken it at landfall a bit more as shear is suppose to hit it as it approaches the coast

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

The upper level low NW of Jamaica has been slowly rolling west with the anticyclone building over Delta.
The shear maker appears to be further north, won't effect Delta till it gets north of 26, still quiet moist air drifting north through Mexico into southern Texas. Dark strip of dry air running through the panhandle needs to start moving east pretty soon.

Just slowed down a little. Still moving along per recon and satellite.

NHC has it 285 miles south of Cameron with landfall in roughly 24 hours, so that averages to 11-12 mph. Pretty much it’s current estimated speed.

Until the larger trough gets over Texas - there is not much there to steer it. I think
