That's the lowest value from the NOAA plane yet.

Been watching this forum like a hawk lol. It is my go-to source for information on these hurricanes!
Am sitting about 4 hours away from the strike zone here in Houston. Ready to roll lol.
Thanks for checking!!

Not sure how far that buoy is from the eye but the pressure is down to about 965mb

It’s pretty close.
Buoy is at 26.06N -93.65 W
Delta 11 pm location
25.7°N 93.6°W
So just slightly north

Yeah, looks like the buoy is down to 960... falling fast. Will be interesting to see what it bottoms out at

Should take a pretty dead-on hit, too.
Weather Dude wrote:eastcoastFL wrote:Weather Dude wrote:Oh yeah it will be dangerous no matter what category it is. So sad to see the same area get 2 direct, strong, hits within 2 months of each other...
It’s nuts. I went through it with frances and Jeanne in 2004 and I just could not believe it was happening again. It wasn’t the danger that made me so angry or worried it was the thought of losing power again! We lost it for 8 days with frances and 20 days with Jeanne. I hope things have advanced since then and our friends in LA don’t have to deal with that.
That's crazy. I was 3 in 2004 so obviously I wasn't tracking back then lol

Late starter, huh, Weather Dude?

On satellite it appears to be making yet another attempt to close off that eye on the southeast. This shot looks like it might succeed since the pressure appears to still be falling. And this is amazing to watch that buoy - so relatively rare to get a direct crossover. Should bottom out rapidly now.
