It's so strange that looking at the radar, and how close Delta is to my area, we're getting pleasant winds here and no rain in NW Harris county. And there's a Cat2/3 hurricane just off the coast.

Gusts up to 32 MPH now. But it doesn't seem to be reaching the ground. Just up in the trees. It reminds me of the Rita effect.

The wind is howling here on Galveston island.

Here in Splendora we had a nice steady light rain since I got up at 6am with no wind. The rain has stopped but winds are starting to pick up now.

I 10 was reported gridlocked last night however the old highway 90 which parallels it was moving.

Either in the Delta update, or the Traffic update on WGNO 99,5 New Orleans... The guy reporting said blown over by winds ?? I dont know if he was correct or not. Just shared what was said

I havn't had an opportunity to check out radar but perhaps a band of training cells resulting in a brief weak tornado?

Feel awful for the folks in SE TX and SW LA, already in the damage path of Laura and getting yet another big blow from Delta, I hope everyone in the path of the storm makes it out okay

Gusty here in Alvin, TX. Hard to tell if there's even a sustained wind, to be honest. I don't have and anemometer, but I'm guessing <10 mph NNE. Very light rain -- only about 0.35" so far.

This wasnt last night, This was 4 hrs ago?? Im confused as to what you are trying to say?

I heard it mentioned on the radio, then minutes later saw that my local Meteorologist posted about it on facebook,(Image I shared in original post) Then shortly after noticed he posted the same on Twitter... Which is below...You can go check it out yourself. As far as the WGNO Announcer, all I can say is call the station if you want to argue the point with him???

Now that we're onto the continental shelf, the SFMR may not be as reliable. Still, I don't think 90% is a good reduction value anymore as there is probably some stability in the cooler water. I'd say 85 kt is the current intensity personally.

Much like Delta has lol. It's weakening and hopefully shouldn't be too destructive outside of the surge. Hoping for the best for those in its path, but this could've been an actual monster.

I think many are also just fatigued

Coming onshore as a Cat 2 isn't going to be a walk in the park. Ike was a Cat 2 and it was very destructive. Louisiana is full.of piles of debris from.the last storms which will add to the danger. Just my opinion.

Wind making my family's house shake and groan a lot. Only weak tropical storm force gusts though...really illustrates how bad homes in central Houston will get damaged when the next Laura doesn't turn...

EDIT: I looked it up and I don't think we got tropical storm force gusts...only up to 25 mph maybe? Somehow that makes it worse...
