This will probably be our last rain event due to the La Niña that we are in which will be very boring dry and warm. We will miss these rainy day’s because it won’t happen until May. The cold fronts will limb thru here with little rain and a NE wind behind the fronts so we barely get below 60.

I'm with you. I really hate these bone dry winter months. Boring weather in the tropics and not enough precipitation. By time April and May rolls around and the heat returns its unbearable.

Feels like we are in a rain forest or something. Rainy season has to be ending soon you would think. Still looks like some drier air works in next week but the cool temps are still on hold for South Florida for the foreseeable future.

After having a TC on the prior three runs, the 12Z UKMET has no TC . But it does have a weak low crossing S FL leading to a couple of inches of rain there:

Persistent easterly, onshore flow continues across the peninsula. It has given us plenty of rain up and down the Florida East Coast for sure. No end in sight in this pattern, at least through the short - medium term.

I was okay with it until about a week ago. Two weeks of this rainy pattern is more than enough! Besides the ground can only hold so much rain before flooding becomes a bigger issue and that’s why Flood advisories, watches, and warnings are up all across the state. Of course we’ll be wishing for some rain come late winter and spring.

Looks like we're going to get Zeta after all. NHC now has the Carrib. disturbance up to 70%! If it hits Florida it'll be the last vestiges of the wet season as a front is slated to clear though the area by Thursday! Going by the East Asian Rule this trough should give Florida a fabulous end to the week and Halloween Weekend! As Zeta is now more then likely to develop and head north expect models to trend cooler with the front in the next couple of days!

The NAO is positive and will remain that way for at least the next two weeks, while the PNA is currently negative. Neither support a significant cold front for the state whatsoever.

Yeah the SE Ridge that we all hate in the winter is saving our butts this hurricane season. Outside of Isaias and Sally nothing all too threatening has come towards the peninsula.

Yeah, that SE Ridge simply does not want to leave that's for sure. It certainly has kept Arctic cold from invading down here for the past 10 years now. It is just an unbelievable anamoly that keeps Florida shielded from Old Man Winter and now tropical cyclones.

It makes me wonder if the magic shield is indeed real. We usually have a legit invasion of refreshing autumn air by late October that gives us our first sub 60 lows of the season in the i-4 corridor. That doesn't look likely this year. We have been having lots of low to mid 70's lows as of late. we have to be torching for October in tampa bay. running up the numbers as we head for our warmest year on record.
