I hear yea Frank and I are about 20 miles to your east at least it will be quick speaking of Frank have not seen him on all day?

Yo Jav, had to drive back from Nashville yesterday to do storm preps today, just finished... should be a good test for the beach house in Biloxi as the most winds it has taken on was 70 mph.. wife stayed in Nashville... right now a little breezy tide is creeping up maybe 2-3 feet asl... I expect a surge of at least 9-10 feet and it will put 85% of HWY 90 under water it that comes to fruition...still waiting to see if the NHC updates the storm surge at 4 pm... Amazing storm to track... got genny, food, water, snacks and copious amounts of Crown.. I’m good to go! Good Luck to all, especially the good people of LA, you guys have had the most incredible hurricane season ever...

Grey, rainy (moderate) and winds in the low teens. Nothing crazy yet so far.

If the wind is blowing from the North or Nrthwest that is probably a good thing..
Zeta is probably going to have TS winds all the way into Pennsylvania.

East and picking up. Rain is too.

Wind and rain picking up quickly in Mandeville. Gotta admit, that radar trajectory has me a little more worried

Good luck man. Starting to hear some howling and whistling here. Strange that it’s a daytime landfall. Thoughts out to Montegut who left for all the storms only to stay back for maybe the worst one for her area.

Radar velocities are definitively higher and more widespread than they were in Sally, and I still believe Sally just made the cut for cat3. Considering how well winds seem to be mixing to the surface based on dropsondes, my confidence is increasing zeta has made it to major, whether NHC officially upgrades now or in PSA

Center of eye only 5 miles from coast (barrier island). Measuring forward speed 28 kts (over 30 mph). Landfall in next few minutes.

SE quad is a lot weaker than earlier this pass. Looks like the upgrade will have to wait until post-analysis... Again

Should get the post season bump based on earlier FL winds and radar velocity but it's absurd we're even talking about this being a major considering the time of year and location. Among the most impressive seasons ever for sure

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Well power is out for me for the duration. I just had a tree come down over my service lines. I was hoping not to lose power this early but oh well, at least I have a whole house stand by generator and if I lose natural gas for some reason I have two back up portables

That's Cajuns for you. Thoughts out. I'm about to go brave some outside and see if I can't get wet.
