This is what the 12z eps is showing a stronger storm with most heading NNW towards Florida or Bahamas.

That’s over 10 days out and will likely change! Been down this road before with pre-Zeta.

And it will likely change from your statements of it going to CA. That’s why I say, we can’t rule out anything with no low!

This is going to be interesting to track I see. When do you think it could form? I’m waiting for it to form to really track it.

It could form as early as Saturday or Saturday evening. However, I think Sunday will be the day.

That’s a decent west shift from yesterday’s 12z EPS which had several heading north towards the FL peninsula. Hope storm weary Louisiana doesn’t let their guard down.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Get ready for Eta, folks! Changed the title as the we now have a trackable entity with a clear east to west track direction per the NHC. Should get tagged as an invest sometime tomorrow.

Prayers for those in CA. Looks like it’s headed on a beeline right for it.

Yeah, the Caribbean is definitely the prime spot of activity for sure. It has finally awakened from years of being in a slumber.

It is going to be potentially another fascinating week to watch this system going into the next week.

.

Could possibly be a separate system formed from the Central American Gyre (CAG) which will be dominating the Caribbean early November. Just look at the 00z GFS. The model literally forecasts 2, maybe 3 tropical cyclones forming within the first 12 days of November.

In this case, the model seems to depict future Eta heading west and hitting Nicaragua, falling apart and giving its energy to the East Pacific for development there. Some of Eta's leftover energy remains in the CAG and a new tropical cyclone forms out of it in the northwestern Caribbean and heads northeast, much like Philippe did in 2017, except this time hitting Florida.

What’s headed on a beeline? You do realize that cone you see is not an actual track cone it’s the area for potential development.

Regardless, this will bring heavy rains to CA. After that, it’s anyone’s guess.
