Holy **** ****** ***

That’s one of the strongest storms in history right there. Did Haiyan get lower than 884 mbar in its best track?

Haiyan's pressure was 895 mb from both agencies so yeah Goni's pressure is 10 mb more lower unofficially

IN all honestly, GONI probably isn't quite as strong as Haiyan, so I'm OK with this.

Honestly JMA... How can you not give a T8.0 storm a pressure below 900mb? Tip's record will never be broken if they keep that up... At least in the WPAC

That being said, Haiyan was deeper than 895, and GONI is deeper than 905

I would peg Goni at 175 knots, along with Angela from 1995. Haiyan I believe was at 185 knots, and Patricia around 180 knots

There's a distinct chance that the center (currently located at 13.7N 125.1E and tracking west-southwestward) will directly pass over Virac (located at 13.575N 124.2E). If the station can survive, we can see some REAL valuable ground-truth data.

I don't think Goni is sub-870mb, but it could be in the upper 870s... Any obs from that first island it's about to hit?
