Backyard, which has never even had water pooling since we are here (third year in this house), has now water up to the ankle. Thank goodness, not high enough to come in the patio. Yeah... this is no summer storm. Still under flash flood until 2 AM. I do have a question: according to accuweather for my area, we are supposed to get even more rain tomorrow than today (about double), and the winds are supposed to be worse tomorrow as well (with gusts of up to 77 miles per hour). Is that the case, or is this a forecast which has not been updated to Eta's current position and configuration?

Another Flash Flood Warning issued for Broward, taking us until 5am now. NWS citing that band moving through Miami-Dade that a couple on here have just gone through. They're saying this could bring another 3-6 inches, on top of the 6-10 inches so far today.

So, uh, I wonder when my boss is going to tell us not to come into the office tomorrow...

The center just took a northward jog... Eta goes where Eta pleases

Just heard and saw 2 transformers blow here in palm city. Still got power here for now

Yeah I haven't even flickered but I never lost power in any storm here yet since 2009 when I moved here.

We lost power for like 12 hours during Irma. I think we lost power during Dorian but we weren’t home we ran. I was in PSL during Matthew and I don’t remember if we lost power or not. Wind is probably it’s heaviest right now we just had a gust here at 57mph. I saw Jensen was at 60mph

If ETA doesn’t do as it’s supposed and head SW we’re going to live in water works for the rest of the week

That radar presentation looks pretty good for a TS...

That is a nasty blowup of convection N of the center. Trying to wrap it around. Looks like it's going for H status sooner rather than later, depending on land interaction...

looks like the convection has moved over the center, might be bad news if this moves towards the loop current and zips back east, its something to watch for

I’m also wondering if the bit of convection over and south of Cuba is going to aid in helping minimize the dry air intrusion.

This is one of those situations where the satellite presentation is deceiving on the low end. Radar shows a decently organized core with a visible eyelike feature and fairly intense "eyewall", whereas satellite barely looks tropical. I think we could get a cat 2 again out of Eta provided that it keeps dry air somewhat at bay

Sure is. It’s probably not far off from a cat 1 by morning at this rate.

Looking almost NNW. Could also be radar deception

Looks like maybe the center is moving a little north under the convection. It’s tough to tell flipping back and forth from IR to radar

I don’t believe it’s deception... the whole system is moving NNW, not just the center

Here is some footage that I took as the heavy rain band moved through Coral Gables an hour or so ago from UMiami!
