I'm afraid that Eta is in immediate need of a Tropical psychologist. It appears that the storm is regressing to CDO once again.

Yucatan Channel has favorable water temps for reformation...

It appears to be intensifying from the fist-like behavior...

Yes....I see that on satellite...ETA is expected to strengthen just a bit...correct?.... as I posted earlier today, I would not be too surprised if ETA defies forecasts....

Recon hasn’t reported in 2 hours. Gotta love 2020’s recon luck.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Wow, it’s done an amazing job at keeping that dry and at bay.

Well rule #2.3.4b in the 2020 hurricane season rules handbook says that the sea of dry air that would normally rip a storm to shreds on the spot is not that much of a problem for November storms so Eta will be fine :D

Looking pretty good for a system surrounded by dry air, and much better than earlier today. Recon might've been able to find a 50-55 kt system if it actually made it inside.
Image

Still, it's a far cry from what it was exactly a week ago at this time...

Is that an eye feature? (On the upper photo)

EDIT: (The bottom photo) That should been a CAT 5, compare it with Irma, Goni, Maria, & Matthew.
