Once again FALSE. Can we please stop with these posts. Anyone who was up at 4 am saw that ETA was quite an impressive hurricane. We just got lucky with dry air

I literally said I agree it was a hurricane for a few hours.

I'm one of the long time "always here" posters no matter where the storm is going. Chasing. Now I'm being chased. They always go somewhere else...except when they don't. I'm grateful this is a weak and degrading system but it still poses hazards including quick spin ups...speaking of which...there's a decent signature over southern Pinellas county right now...

Oh yeah you're totally fine lol. It was looking pretty good for a while there. Just not sure it's there now. Maybe it is maybe it's not. There's not much difference between a 70mph TS and 75mph hurricane. Impacts are the same.

Also folks in Tampa couple of tornado warned cells coming your way!

45+ mm/hr rain rate - even to support moderate intensification.
Convection slowing building back in the core

Those winds were 1 mile North of my neighborhood. Bellaire Beach is what they said. I was in the Tornado warning zone though

That's what went through here...People probably thought I was exaggerating...And the local weather site said "35mph gusts"...

I can attest that you weren't exaggerating, we get the same weather, as we're only 7-8 miles as the crow flies to the lighthouse. It going at it again just now as I type, and there's another band setting up just offshore, it's not over yet.

You are absolutely right psyclone... ETA can, and is producing hazardous conditions, as is evident in your post...I urge everyone affected to stay in touch with your local reports...

Less than 1 percent lost power in Pinellas county so they survived the first squall line.
We get a little more dry air entrained tonight and this won't be too bad except for surge sensitive areas.

Yeah for a while this morning it looked like this might be as bad as Irma in Pinellas but it's reminding me more of the effects of Hermine, Andrea, Barry (2007) and some other June storms. Not even as bad as Debby since Debby brought 10-12 inches of rain and was a more prolonged event. Obviously YMMV if you're under one of the spin-up tornadoes but as an area event it hopefully shouldn't be that bad.
