First time I've seen waves up to the dunes on Clearwater Beach since we installed the beach cam about 5 years ago.

I was a kid in 1972 when Hurricane Agnes pushed a 10 ft storm surge into our area. I think that is the highest since the 1920's.

FYI, it always floods on Lido, ever since I was a kid. No matter how big the pumps are they install, it still can not keep. Especially with a slow moving TS or TD.
When there's 3-5 feet of storm surge where is the water going to be pumped to if there is no levee to keep the storm surge out?

Yeah I should have been clearer caneman. It's 3 to 4 ft above the normal tide elevation. Normal tide right now around 2 ft above MLLW. Tides now running 5.17 ft MLLW at St Pete Pier, 5.39 ft at Clearwater Pier.

Getting some decent squalls in Hudson (Pasco County). Judging by my (very scientific) pool water level I'd say around 3 inches of rain today so far.

Its been breezy for a while and the power outages are cumulative so they are up to 29,000 and they can't estimate when its coming on again. I've got about 10 hours of gas for the generator if need be, but I think the winds have peaked maybe one gust that reached 50 mph, no where near as bad as Irma.

This is another great cam. There are rock jetties on the right side that are under water, can't see the sandy beach past the sand dune.

That got really spicy for a bit. yikes. Lots of loud noises and the smell of fresh pine in the air. exceeded my expectations by a decent margin.

It's radar eyeballing it at this point. System has constantly been right of forecast

The LLC still 20-25 miles or so offshore, that was probably part of the decoupled MLC coming ashore.
