Let the “fun” begin...

If that BT info is right, the NHC is going with 90 kt as the peak for the first advisory. That’s way more aggressive than their first advisory for Eta. Oh boy.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I'm thinking peak intensity of 130-165 mph & 940-895 MB

(Too far out on how strong this will get, but still  )

It seems like there's a very good chance this becomes a major. That would bring the total up to 6, tying with 2017. And that's not including possible upgrades to Zeta or Sally.

Important part of discussion:

The NHC track forecast at days
4 and 5 shows the system weakening over land, however some of the
track guidance keeps the system just off the coast on Honduras at
that time. If a more northern track occurs, the system could be
stronger at 96 and 120 h if it remains over water.

Borderline major at landfall...and this is just the first advisory, and the NHC is also noting the possibility for RI and Iota getting north of CA. This might be just as much of a beast, if not more so, than Eta at this rate.

Is the ocean heat content after Eta going to be a hinderance?
