Iota is going to set some serious intensification record for November. Near 30C SSTs all the way to landfall.

Is it possible for a ATL/EPAC crossover?

Some insane developing occurring tonight. Iota is developing the classic "shrimp tailed" look with a dense CDO.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

The Caribbean is surely running on overclock mode. Currently seeing a lot of thermal throttling on IR lol

This usually means that the system is going into a ERI.

I'm really scared now for the CA countries.

Serious improvement in satellite appearance from this morning. It looks like Iota is finally taking off, just need recon to confirm.

It’s passing through the Yucatán Channel at cruising altitude and speed. Looks like there’s no turning back now. Another 2-ish hours until it arrives, I believe.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

The circular shape of Iota tells me is probably undergoing rapid intensification.

Iota & Eta will be the twins of terror for Honduras in 2020. I am feeling very sorry for those that lose everything.

Serious improvement from just 4 hours ago. It went from blobby-looking mess to a very aggressively strengthening system in a short time. Not a good sign. I continue to be shocked by this hurricane season.

Wouldn't be suprised if Iota is well into category 1 territory. Outflow is formidable, a CDO has established itself, and I think that's the largest and most intense curved band I've seen all season. This far south, Iota will be able to tap directly into moisture and ideal atmospheric conditions from the EPAC to the upper Caribbean
