Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Never say Never with weather! Because ANYTHING is possible!

925 mbar extrapolated, and they still haven’t hit the exact center yet.

I hope they spin around and go back through the NW quadrant again, to confirm the maximum winds again.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

The halo like feature surrounding the eye makes me think it's attempting an eyewall melding

Probably not, they only have fuel for two passes.

If so, the next recon plane should arrive when it completes, and this pass should determine if one is going on.

Weird to see such a tight core and such a ragged mess to the North East.

A 10 mph increase usually isn't enough to warrant a special advisory. They'll probably wait until 10 am EST.

They could still send out one of those updates and then wait for the full advisory for the discussion and forecast. Like they did earlier for Cat 4
