And the models had this weekend with drizzle and mid 50's. It was close to 60 today and Sunday has a high of 63 for DFW. Even the Christmas Day now shows a high in the lower 60's compared to a few days ago when it showed mid to low 50's.

This coming week looks pretty quiet with that brief shot of cooler weather Christmas Eve then a gradual warming trend through the weekend.

]The primary impact of Wednesday`s front appears to be strong gusty
winds both ahead and behind the front, so it would be prudent for
those with outdoor events Wednesday to plan for this. Expect
falling temperatures behind the front with clearing skies through
the overnight hours. A trailing shortwave should move through late
Wednesday into Thursday, reinforcing the cold and (very) dry air
brought in by Wednesday`s cold front. Continued cold advection
will support gusty north winds Thursday...meaning Christmas Eve
should feel pretty chilly with highs in the 40s and wind chills
in the 30s. A high center should then settle into East Texas
Thursday night and finally relax the gusty winds. Clear skies,
very dry air, and light winds will promote strong radiational
cooling and allow for sub freezing temperatures across the region
on Christmas morning. Slightly warmer air filters into the area
from the west on Christmas Day, allowing highs to top out in the
upper 50s to low 60s.

Texas` next weather producer is currently over the Central Pacific
as a cut off low and is projected to slowly meander east this
upcoming week. The GFS deterministic/ensemble guidance keeps the
trough farther north which would provide a better chance of rain
over North Central Texas. The ECMWF deterministic/ensemble
guidance keeps it over the Rio Grande Valley which would provide
little to no chance of rain for us. As this trough eventually gets
absorbed into an active southern branch of the jet early this
week, we will get much a better idea of the track and timing of
this system by the time it reaches our are next weekend.

Well this bodes well for me but unfortunate for you.
If the storm holds on longer though you could get some flurries from its leftovers before it restrengthens to the East.

This is an intriguing setup. Does the West Coast ridge amplify up into Canada dumping air down the Front Range as that SW low gets cranking? It would be awesome if the 240hr panel tomorrow had that low digging and the ridge amping but it probably won't even have this system.

That being said, the setup looks really nice from January onward where it looks like multiple shots of cold air are possible with ample moisture. Of course that is very much subject to change.

Almost 30" for Denton haha. I'd take a foot in Lindale been almost 11 years since we got a foot in Feb 2010.
Maybe a repeat of New Year's 2000 is in the works.
