For me, in 3 storms I will get 7-10 inches here.

It would be better with snow
I'm feeling somewhat optimistic about the Monday storm but it's still so far away

The high temp plotted by nws for my location is 36 degrees, the actual temp right now is 31 and 32 for alliance or 5 degrees below their hourly projection. The current forecast is based on not reaching freezing until midnight, yet we’ve already reached freezing.
Why is observational data not taken into account when updating the nws forecast?
Clearly northern tarrant county should be included in the wwa. Can they not set WWA’s for portions of counties like thunderstorm warnings? Just curious because schools are trying to plan for tomorrow right now on bad info. Any insight would be appreciated.

NOT a PRO MET, but as I recall from earlier this year, not to mention past events, arctic air is shallow and the rain will fall from higher altitudes that are warmer and the rain warm the lower levels above freezing as it falls. That's the only logical explanation for why they are sticking to the models.
GFS and GFS Para show 1 to 2 inhes of snow Saturday for DFWrwfromkansas wrote:Brent wrote:TropicalTundra wrote:Hope everyone in the metroplex is enjoying these cold 30’s. It’s 50 degrees here. lol

The snow keeps getting pushed back. Saturday looks unlikely now, so hope Monday delivers.
