Just entering Tarrant, It's about 15 miles West of me now. It looks to be building further South and ramping up as it nears our 13 hour snow hole.,,, :D

I'm not sure but has to be close to 2". They've had heavier bouts of snow and lower visibility + colder temps than the earlier round when it racked up 1" depth. I can never get consistent live updated data regarding snow from the airport.

I finally checked here and it's right 2.1 inches and still going out in front of the heavy band heading in.

It's these streamer bands. They park themselves over the same areas (luckily the airport is in one constantly) and it dumps hard for few minutes on and off.

Man, dfw airport is gonna be the big winner at this rate. Out here in Dallas we’ve had occasional moderate snow but it’s mostly been light

It's been unreal. I was just a little bit to the east closer to I-35 earlier and it's nothing like what it is the closer you get to the Tarrant/Dallas county line. The airport has been the jackpot all morning.

These streamers remind me of the lake effect snow bands.

It’s funny you say that, because I’ve been thinking that might be what they are. It looks to be streaming off the lakes in Denton county

I was in the middle of one now just east of DFW @ 161 and it's darkened and heavy snow. My brother is in Las Colinas and he's only getting flurries a few miles away. DFW airport has been going in and out of light to heavy snow.

Wow this second band is a lot heavier than it looks... Really coming down now. I hope it keeps up for a while, I don't want to bust on the low side of the forecast

Can y’all send me some snow photos? I’m only getting flurries here. No surprises yet. :froze:

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

I am 2” with the point forecast for 4-6” more. I’m happy now. The rest is gravy. It’s been steady snow showers probably from Lake Lewisville or Ray Roberts. This is a dream setup if the west bands are slowing down.

I just watched the FW skyline disappear on that stockyard cam poster earlier. The visibility line is closing in on the camera. It’s here...

Actually it’s not there as much as dfw airport cam. Damn.

And that's before the real stuff shows up. Won't be able to see anything for much longer.

Storm system seems to be moving more slowly than forecast. But it has arrived in Weatherford. Started in earnest at 3:45.
