And.... power went out. AGAIN. Ugh.

It’s all how you look at it. I’m just hit the jackpot right before bed and am in the 10% of my day that I do have power. So I have a really short time to fill all the bathtubs, boil pots of water, turn on the ovens while open, and run our space heater so that we don’t freeze the the rest of the night.

I am grateful for what I just got but if you are willing to switch places with me I will gladly exchange for a “oh no the power is out” moment

Oh an please bring me more snow. If I have to go through all this I would appreciate that radar to finally fill with some more DFW snow to look at while my house is freezing tomorrow!

I was just getting concerned its south of us but I see what you're saying around Tarrant now

Yeah the whole region is going to fill in, don't worry too much about what's south of us. There's going to be a hard cutoff around mineral wells but east of there it will just keep back-building.

We knew there would be a window where DFW would be in a dry slot.. development popping off now in tarrant, and will continue to train and backbuild throughout the night and morning. Trust me a lot of the doubters are in for a surprise in the morning. 3-5”+ for DFW but as NTX said, there will be a sharp cutoff, with those further west missing out this time. But it appears those from Weatherford-Denton East this time are in play for several hours of HEAVY snow and totals could pile up quick with temps in the teens.. This could really overperform if it ends up lingering through noon.

The coast has warmed significantly. Look at Galveston and Bolivar - in the 40's, while areas to the NW are below freezing. As the low deepens, the temperature gradient will deepen too.

Absolute nightmare developing over Austin area. Heavy freezing rain stalled. God help us without power and heat and water...

So far the models have been off a bit with the northern extent of the heaviest precip. Not saying it will stay that way but you can clearly see "real time" initialization has been a bit too far to the N with the band of precip just south of Dallas back to the SW moving NE. San Antonio is about to get into the southern band of this precip and models had this staying 30-40 miles north tonight.

We’re supposed to stay well below freezing in OK overnight meaning I’ll likely wait until the morning to take measurements. We probably had 4 1/2 inches left from Sunday’s snowstorm and we’ve added at least 4 inches on top of it from the looks of it. No clue what the final depth will be but this is definitely the prettiest snowfall I’ve ever seen. It’s like it was raining glitter. Very fast and very consistent. Very reminiscent to those days of pure cold rain—only this time, it’s 10° and snow!

Radar reflection is continuing to increase across North Texas with the overrunning warmer air to the south. Going to be a decent snow event here. Surface temps are still way cold, the light snow that has been falling is coating pretty easily. ULL feature from the panhandle that moved south/southeast is going to help with the lift and increase coverage. You can see it show up in the NW counties.



South of I-20 the warm nose is causing all kinds of mix.

My temps have risen to 28 at 2am (from 22 at 11pm). Stepped out and feels more like rain. Light. Hope it ends soon regardless!

People are gonna be surprised in the morning both the HRRR and the NAM have snow lingering around Dallas through noon

I fell asleep but it's snowing in Longview. The ice situation down south doesn't look good...

Not much new accumulation here still can see the footprints from the last couple of days but it's still amazing to watch
