It appears the inner eyewall managed to overtake the outer eyewall.

No, that’s just the “debris” from the old inner eyewall. Sometimes it can look like it becomes dominant again, but it’s not. The coldest temp in the massive eye and where it occurs varies wildly in these situations.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Ok eye see that now with the microwave pattern that it is just convection being consumed as there is no inner eyewall.

That is a massive eyewall. It is almost (ALMOST NOT ACTUALLY) an annular TC. Spiral bands still attatched to it though.

The new eye is opening up, but Surigae is running out of time before upwelling or shear starts taking a toll. It’s difficult to tell the temp of the eye and the state of the storm’s internal structure, because both the ADT site and the cira.colostate site refuse to update or even show information on Surigae.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.
