What new severe warning system? :double:

It divides severe thunderstorm warnings into 3 tiers based on impacts. Right now when a storm is warned for either baseball or larger hail, or 80+ mph winds, the warning text is tagged with a line that says "This is a very dangerous storm". I believe under the new system, instead of having that line, I'm pretty sure an emergency alert will be sent out to peoples phones/radios, just like a tornado warning.

Here is an article that explains it way better than me.

So is it like this? :darrow:

1. Severe Thunderstorm Warning
2. PDS Severe Thunderstorm Warning
3. Extreme Thunderstorm Warning

This is going to be hard to predict. This event could be bigger than what a slight risk implies

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

2 is "considerable" and 3 is "destructive". I don't know if they'll specifically have a PDS tag or not but it'll be similar I'd imagine.

Luckily this thing has remained over very rural areas. However, if it keeps it's current track, it'll head right into Witchita Falls. It's still a ways away, but Witchita Falls needs to watch this one closely.

The same Supercell has turned NE, at the OK/TX Red River border, & is dying away

HOWEVER, it might recover & get stronger again since it's heading towards a more favorable environment . . .
