I do not care for politics, however, the only time I have voted (I was 17 days too young for the last Presidential election- FUNNY how the vote wasn't resolved until AFTER my birthday  ) I voted for the Democrat candidate in Davenport's mayoral race.

Registered Republican since 1972, but often vote a "split ticket" for an individual office-seeker, not by partisan lines at all.

However, I'm more of a libertarian (Jeffersonian) conservative than most; I have a healthy distrust of centralization of power (except during time of war, and that only while hostilities are being waged), no use at all for un-"equal protection" laws, strongly pro-Second Amendment, pro-life and anti-Hollywood/NOW/PETA/enviro militants and "I know better than you do how to run your life" liberals.

Does that answer your question?

Neither Democrat nor Republican, which I guess would make me an Independent. I have voted Democrat, Republican and Independent. It depends on the candidate's views on the issues that are important to me.

I guess I'm independent, but only registered to vote last year. In a high school "mock" election November 2000, I cast my vote for president Bush.

Am I just smoking crack or do you not have to register a party line in Harris county/Texas? I know we have a couple of other Houstonians and it always confuses me when someone says that they're registered as dem, rep, or ind.... like I totally missed the boat when filling out my voters registration card the last 5 times (Lots of moves, a name change and at least one lost card) Or maybe I'm registered as something and just didn't know it LOL
