As Aric said, if they’re going to investigate this, it should be today rather than tomorrow afternoon, when it will already be nearly onshore.

If they want to investigate this tomorrow thats fine...but it CANT be in the afternoon...no one wants Dolores 2.0 here it would have to be early morning like 5 am.

Im sorry wait what.. is that a small shrimp formation I am seeing...
I do believe that is a curved band trying to wrap around... Recon tomorrow is far too late..
but at least it will be in radar range this evening and overnight.

Looks like there is shear from the SE. The thunderstorms are being blow off to the NW, but there is definitely an LLC. Its about to become visible

Re: ATL: INVEST 96L - Discussion
I've seen lesser systems classified as a depression. I doubt the NHC will go TD or PTC on this tonight, kind of pointless to issue a warning hours before landfall and I do not expect advisories or warnings until tomorrow.
The good thing is a fast moving depression or minimal storm will not have much more of an impact than a strong afternoon thunderstorm.
Also west of the Gulfstream, along the coast of Georgia the water cools off significantly making it highly unlikely whatever develops will be deeping upon landfall.

The UUL to the west is still shearing the system. It is going to have to keep firing over the center

Now that it has made it all the way down to the surface it could intensify over the gulf stream before it reaches Georgia. Was kind of hoping this would be over land before the environment improved for development.

This is kind of worrying how all these systems seem to be persisting in conditions that are less than favorable...not sure what that portends to the rest of the season but it can't be a good sign.

Yet another instance where the PTC designation would be very useful yet seems to hardly be utilized.

More than enough for an upgrade.. sheared for the time being. The ULL is pulling away from the LLC. should open up to less shear overnight.

I could see them doing it at 5 or 8 just to put some type of warnings along the coast. Just really surprised with this thing.

Hopefully recon gets out there soon. I think there's a pretty good chance we see Danny out of this.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

That’s a tropical depression. A fairly organized one at that. I’d pull the trigger by 11 pm at the latest. I’m expecting a 50 mph TS into the coast sometime tomorrow at this rate.

The question is will they actually upgrade it now that the center's exposed.

So why not bother classifying it? If it meets criteria, is not scientifically dishonest to ignore it?
