Good evening everyone. Good to be back here after a hibernation. Colder weather is on the way this weekend. Here in Maryland, high temps Saturday will only be 47-50 degrees with lows Saturday night between 22 and 30 degrees. The warmest spots will be in areas near the Chesapeake Bay, near the tidal Potomac and the cities of DC and Baltimore. The colder northwest suburbs will be even colder as is typical in this type of cold air scenario.
Also keep an eye out Saturday evening for the second total lunar eclipse of the year 2003. The moon will enter Earth's shadow beginning at 6:32 PM EST Saturday. Only folks in the eastern United States will see the beginning of the lunar eclipse and the lunar eclipse at it's entirity. Folks living on the west coast will see themoon rise during totality and watch the second half of the lunar eclipse.
The totality will last for only 25 minutes Saturday evening from 8:06 PM EST to 8:31 PM EST. The moon will leave Earth's shadow after 10 PM EST Saturday.
The next total lunar eclipse for the United States will last for 1 hour and 21 minutes at it's period of totality and will occur in October of 2004. Definitely enjoy this Saturday nights luna
