Re: Texas Summer 2021
For the rest of August, people along the Gulf Coast and the Carolinas are likely to be exposed to elevated levels of dihydrogen monoxide, also known as hydrogen hydroxide or oxidane.

Most of the Continental United States has been and will experience above-average temperatures. The Pacific Northwest has been and will experience significantly above-average temperatures; the South, below-average temperatures.

Hard to believe the averages will be dropping soon. Summer has flown by. My daughter starts school Monday and football is around the cormer. Best part of the year is quickly approaching.

Yeah it's been a pretty strange summer tbh and it's pretty much over soon
We're losing a lot of sunlight too fall and winter is coming

Sitting outside late on Friday night and it's a beautiful 72F. Can't believe it's early August. Heat looks to return soon (near normal temps, but mid-upper 90's).

On Thursday, August 5th, the high for OKC was supposed to be 92, but storms rolled in and it only got up to 80 . . . And I was like What?

Is the gfs just an outlier or showing a bias or something then? Every run I’ve seen keeps upper 90s to 100 in the southern plains through the end of the run. Obviously the pattern will break down at some point, but my expectations aren’t very high for august.

The CPC is showing near-normal temperatures & above-normal precip in the next 2 weeks, that's why it's dead, near-normal summer . . .
6-10 Days

8-14 Days

(Except maybe Far-Southern Texas . . .

My focus is 100% on the tropics especially since I only live one hour from the Gulf. Things are about to heat up.

The CFS forecasts below-average temperatures for Texas, the Great Plains, and the Southwest. If only we could have some below-average temperatures

I will take that even if it is not much cooler. Nice to see some showers returning today. Yesterday was really hot. I went outside after 6 and it was still really hot. I will be glad when we finally get our first real cold front.
