Grace is starting to get that look...Double ventilated on the north and south end. This thing is going to blow up soon

Honestly wouldn't be surprised by a double major hurricane landfall along the Yucatan and near or to the south of Tampico.

Are we going to see a special advisory potentially issued? This is certainly not a 50 mph storm no matter how you look at it.

Kind of reminds me of Iota before it went nuclear...hopefully Grace does not do that, but unfortunately with such favorable ssts and abundant UOHC, it would not take much at least thermodynamically to become something very bad.

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.

We should get a minimum pressure reading from the AF302 plane soon, assuming the LLC of Grace is indeed moving offshore right now.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Comma-shaped appearance on Grace on 1 KM IR, I have a bad feeling about this . . .

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

That feeder band formed very quickly.
Source is that high CAPE air south of Cuba.
Strong convection will knock out that 355K PV Streamer.
Will open up a big door for intensification once that happens.
Looks like it'll be an easy Cat 1 now.

The question was what intensity is it now (when recon arrives). I gather some of you think it has strengthened over land? :)
