Eye may have been affected a little by land cruise in Cuba, but nonetheless still intact...and it also appears to have expanded (?)

Did you read any of the comments from that tweet? Apparently, the mayor of NO is telling people it’s too late to evacuate and just sit tight….is that for real? Anyone else hear that, too?
Yes, the mayor doesn't want to evacuate New Orleans. Pro Mets were having a field day on twitter about this decision.

Didn’t catch that earlier. I’ll delete my post. I’m sure the pro Mets we’re losing it.

Guessing it has something to do with the interaction with Cuba and the readings are from an area that has been over the water longer then the eye.

Your post is fine, but I had to delete another. Everyone, it's frustrating but we can't do anything about it except fill the thread up with a bunch of anger. This is why I'd rather we just let it go and stick to the storm. Thanks.

And just a heads up from on the ground here Between Baton Rouge and New Orleans... Even if people wanted to leave from my area, they cant. No gas to be found anywhere. No plywood to board windows. And shelves of the Walmart in Walker, La are stripped clean

That one burst created/re-established a CDO. without it I expect that Ida would look much worse than it does now. Ida should have no trouble initiating new rotating hot towers any time now.
