Eye seems to be gyrating around as the system intensifies. Traffic report: Just made a short trip up I65 to visit family. Lots of Louisiana tags on the road heading north, with traffic flowing smoothly..100 mph at times

The next recon will probably be the most anticipated one since Eta & Iota last year. Any predictions on what it's gonna find? I'll say 967mb/95kt.

HWRF was showing this, eye briefly opens and then gets closed again eventually expanding and clearing up to a stronger system. Katrina also did something similar when it travelled on the loop current.

I can see 85kts to 125kts in 12 hours, if this eyewall consolidation continues without getting hampered by anything. By then Ida would still be sitting on packets of very high OHC. From there, aditional 25kts strengthening before the eye parallels the coast seems achievable in my opinion. I think I've seen this happen before in many WPAC CAT5's.

Sorry Mods I knowt here is a thread for prepping stuff but i dont have much time....

Im Just north of Albany which is along I 12 just east of Ida track.

We have a double wide we are leaving, with a tree that will likely come down on it. BUT just in case it remains intact somewhat and the tree falls a different way and misses it...

I have no plywood, but I do have these giant sheets of like 4 inch thick heavy duty industrial type styrofoam? If I used like silver dollar sized washers and screws to secure them over the two biggest sets of window I have. Will that possibly in any way, help at all???? Or is it simply a waste of time???
