The above SPC Surface Vorticity 0400Z image is a good illustration of the surface air convergence (solid red lines) encompassing the center of Hurricane Ida flanked by surface air divergence (dashed blue lines) on the northwest to southeast periphery of the storm.

Agree just can’t have this type of presentation around the eye and not be around 950s…winds for sure have caught up by now..IMO…

Well, shoot, since everyone else is predictions/guesses I reckon I'll throw in mine. I am gonna go with 110kts with a 949mb central pressure. I really think she took off just after the plane left earlier. She has been rocking and rolling ever since and it shows.
