I'm impressed that the Texaco and power lines on the Golden Meadow feed are holding up so well.

There's a lot of expensive oil infrastructure in this area, so the hope is it has been hardened and built to Cat 5 standards because of how expensive it would be to rebuild similar to nuclear power plants. Hopefully, the damage won't be as bad as feared.

I thought they said they were bugging out from there? Not safe?

This morning. ONE of the chasers did.

No, he's there

Backside of the eyewall is coming into Port Fouchon. Doesn’t look like it’s losing any strength yet. Still looks to be 140-150.

Hurricanetrack camera locations (there's more than this).

Sewage pumps are out in New Orleans and other parishes. The news anchor said “If it’s yellow let it mellow and brown flush it down.”  They’re telling people not to use much water to avoid system backups into houses.

Really???? Just curious if the dude's arm was still attached to his hand-held anemometer when that reading took place. That or.... what oil rig did he get flown out too and at what elevation was it? Seems like a questionable reading.

I can’t verify credibility here… but don’t most chasers have those mounted to the exterior of vehicles? I didn’t realize an anemometer could only be handheld. He was sitting in his chase vehicle next to a “parking structure” when he got the readings

Salute!

I thot there was a blow out valve beneath the actual sea floor that shuts the oil down...the one that failed 11 years ago on the Horizon rig, dat right?

Gums sends

P.S. my home is 200 miles east of the eye and have had 20 - 25 mph most of morning

Might the hurricanetrack balloon miss the eye? Storm looks to be veering slightly west.

Not true on the Mars thing. But there are multiple wellheads on Mars. Not just one.
