What is the board standard? Should we refrain from posting Unconfirmed reports of things? Because this is going to be a long day for me. With me following so many from this area Ive got info flying from left and right. What should I share And what shouldnt I share?

Sincere question

Use your own judgement, and be honest if unconfirmed (which you did). If it's a message in chat or from a random facebook group my assumption is that it's usually false, but you can always try and verify it. The more dramatic the news the higher the odds it's fake. :)

The report of the "Levee" "Berm" breech also caused a bit of a debate in the Cajun Navy group it was posted in by a member after the post was deleted. Though it actually stems from a first person post of a surveillance vid from the camp of the woman's parents.... We dont have a embed code for facebook but link to one of the vids. I dont have an option to copy the link to the ladies post itself.

Edit: She actually has several vids of it in the post

I’m surprised there isn’t a captain on board the ferry for when stuff like this happens. IIRC they had captains on each ferry in Galveston when Ike hit.

Mesovorticies and lightning still present in the eyewall.

Velocity bins still showing widespread category 4 winds.

Actually wondering now if Ida has somehow gotten stronger over the LA marshes... radar presentation has definitely improved and what appear to be mesovorticies can be seen in the eyewall.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Well, that IS very warm water.

I'm curious too. COULD it have gotten stronger because of that?

Katrina strengthened over the everglades...so it is possible, even warmer water in the swamps, just not very deep so it can't sustain it forever if it slows down

There's an old fellow in a wheelchair at a bus stop on Canal Street. In a Cat 4. He's been there a while, I guess.
