Southwest Mississippi such as McComb might be in for a surprise depending on how well Ida holds together further inland.

For New Orleans, the wind and rain impacts will likely be much more than Katrina and on par with Betsy.

I don't think the sheer magnitude of a problem that was presented by a slow moving hurricane with New Orleans in the eastern quadrant was really appreciated until now.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.
