Down to a PDS warning now but still very bad. Debris ball still there but not quite as big

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

I’m under a Tornado Watch here in SW CT until 1am. What’s the possibility of one with this setup?

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Seeing some damage pics on Twitter now. I'm not posting them here because I'm not sure it's official yet since it's just random people posting them but if it is real, this might be one if the strongest TC-related tornadoes on record

Between this and some of the damage pictures we're seeing this certainly looks like a high-end ef3 or low end ef4 tornado.

Ida is trying to make itself as memorable as it possibly can. We got 6 inches of rain here...there's wind advisories out, there's record flooding rains all over the place with 4 inch per hour rates and now there's a huge tornado outbreak. Jersey just had a tornado that looked like it was EF3 or EF4 in intensity and that's ontop of dozens of tornado warnings.

Already some bad flooding ongoing in NJ, and that same band hasn't lost much steam as it moves thru NYC.
LA wasn't enough for Ida, who apparently is determined to take a high spot on the list of costliest hurricanes.

With all the rain, lightning, and assorted severe weather warnings/watches, there’s no way I’m getting a respectable sleep tonight. At least I don’t have to worry about waking up super early for classes tomorrow. This is easily the most potent remnant system I’ve ever seen.

This is honestly worse than what Henri did here. Unbelievable rain rates, wind and lightning here on LI. Friends of mine say NYC is a big mess.

The damage $ in NY/NJ might end up making the gulf coast damage look tiny.

Wow the northeast is getting swamped from what's left of Ida. With how populated it is, that is very dangerous to drive out into. Flooding is probably the worst natural disaster.

Will people remember them as associated to Ida, though?

Re: ATL: IDA - Post-Tropical - Discussion
Looks like NYC has been in non-stop heavy rain for a few hours now. Looking at the radar, it's going through the entirety of that line of heavy rain. That's always a recipe for flash flooding. Looks like it will still last at least another hour or so...New England also is going to get a ton of rain too.
Those hurricane remnants are no joke.
