So we took one of our GoPro cams and fastened it to an oak tree along the waterfront in Mandeville, LA which is on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain. It ran for over 30 hours and during the daylight of August 29, the day of Ida's landfall, it captured the beginnings of what turned out to be a significant and destructive storm surge.
