I think Nicholas still has a shot at making landfall as 75-80 mph cat 1 hurricane not like that would change the impacts very much though.

You guys are definitely having what seems to be a PHP glitch. See link for screenshot. https://ibb.co/56w97G6 Also, I just donated, thank you guys for everything!

The link is at the top of every page, and our servers are not crashing. Not that this should keep you from donating! You can also use the paypal button to place the donation link in your post.

Two high-helicity hot towers fired off, west of the MLC.
Rather short duration though, but not too bad for this time of day.
Nic is trying.

Nicholas is struggling to get beyond a rain bomb...But rain bombs can be a big hazard..

Same in Alvin. Just went through a fairly heavy band.

Looking like Matagorda to Freeport for landfall, unless I’m seeing the MLC on radar. He would have to go due north from this point to stay on FC track.
Chambers County might get the worst of the rainfall totals, but remains to be seen.

Matagorda County, Brazoria County, Galveston County, SE Harris County, Chambers County, and part of Jefferson County under a high risk for excessive rainfall.

This was a strong warm-core feature about 2 hours ago.
Weakened some, now it seems to be slowly coming back.

I will say that is some very impressive upper level outflow from Nick. The low level center though looks like trash. Good job Windshear.

With the new center reformation again north, how many hours are we looking at now for landfall? This afternoon versus this evening?

Nicholas is a mess today. Looks like there are eddies rotating about a central gyre. Doubt its inner structure will consolidate prior to landfall. Gonna be a big rain maker. Y'all in Texas stay dry....MGC
