Yesterday, in his video, Mark Sudduth predicted it would be a hurricane by landfall.

I think Nicholas' lack of additional organization and failure to stack earlier today made a lot of people doubt it would still become a hurricane.

I think the band is wrapping around the center making it look like it's moving back out the sea even though it's not.

A few observations: it’s pretty cool outside here for an incoming tropical system. It’s doesn’t feel muggy at all - feels almost like fall.
Also, to the northwest it was partially blue skies with a nice bright sunset.
Nicholas is basically half a storm and I am on the edge.

Nick looks quite impressive until you realize the actual CoC is on the SW edge of the CDO feature

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Ah okay this makes sense, having trouble keeping up with the "center" so didn't even think about that. Thank you!

That shear is still shoving what ever tries to wrap around back into itself. Doubt it because Texas Ain't no brown ocean, its a brown desert.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

If it fully wraps up 970s might be in play. There's some crazy mid-level vorticity up for grabs

Looks like the winds still haven't caught up yet now it just needs to get to land before they have a chance to do so

There are plenty of hurricane-force FL winds, and pressure continues to drop. It won’t be long before we have Hurricane Nicholas — not a very impressive hurricane, but still one nonetheless.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
