Does this mean its made landfall? I did see a dark dark spot pop on sandwich right at the coast.. but is that the center? Wait for recon i guess.

No, CoC is still offshore, been heading almost parallel to the coast during the past couple of hours.

I may not be getting much more out of this. Forecasts for Houston and a lot of surrounding areas are going to bust...

I wouldn't speak so soon on that looks like areas in Jefferson County south of I-10 are going to see very heavy rainfall still

Jefferson County is a different metro area. For the Houston area, mostly dry.

I keep watching the HRRR today. Been showing that the storm will drag along the coast since this am. Looking good right now.

CB partially wrapped, outflow expanding. That should hold off shear for a little bit

At this point, I'm just hoping to get some decent rain out of this and not have to run the sprinklers for a few days. Have had hardly anything so far..

NHC upgraded it to a hurricane...Late advisory too...Must have been a tight decision.

Looks like we got ourselves a cane. Hopefully the strongest winds in the E quad stay offshore

The hurricane upgrade wasn't from Recon but rather a Weather station in Matagorda recorded hurricane-force sustained winds.

The cone isn't updating on the NHC site.

Edit: I can see it now.
