I guess the 1st thing is to set an amount of weight you want to loose,& time frame.I'm shooting for the 1st of the year. I've only lost a pound,but I have been walking 2 mi. on my treadmill,so toning up. (With holidays coming ,this will be a challenge.) I have also cut out soft drinks.. just trying to eat healthier. I sure do miss my junk food tho. If you have any suggestions or special tips to share, I'm all hips..errrrrrrrr I mean ears.

I'll join this support group- I have already lost 33 lbs. in the last three months by changing my eating habits and switching over to diet pop (Ticka, I didn't drink pop for 5 years when I was in high school and the year after, but I caved when I went to college, and now I only drink diet, lol), but I have some more to kill, lol, so why not!

Maybe we should start a support group for gaining weight, too.
Sorry, please understand I mean no harm in saying that. Being so many pounds underweight, it would be worth it.
I drink soda just about every day along with eating snacks between meals and it isn't working yet! (I will be the one to mention tonic, some people in New England call it that,
)

Well I have a few pounds to lose. I think we can give each other support - like when we have a bad day or when we have a good day.
I am a firm believer in including exercise while trying to lose weight - any and everything counts and eating in moderation.
So tonight I am going to start my walking on the threadmill at least 20 mins to start off with.....

Sure, Jacki. If it isn't too much trouble. This thread is great for those trying to/wanting to lose weight and the minority with the opposite problem, like myself and perhaps Jeremy, as well. Thanks!
Jeremy, I am not sure what a 5'6" man is suppose to weigh. I probably am more underweight than you are, being about five inches taller than you. As I said, I am healthy, which is the important.

Well, for starters, I don't know what kind of foods you enjoy, but ANY fast food is very high in fat and calories!!! For desserts, cheesecake is sure to pack on the pounds, as well as most candybars and chocolates! Sodas are high in sugar, so they help as well, and for the holidays, egg nog!! That stuff is chock full of everything you need to gain weight!! (LOL, that is why I chose soymilk Egg Nog- all the goodness and only 90 calories per serving!)
I didn't go into much detail, but if you are looking to pack on weight, look at the label- any food high in carbs, sugars, and fat should help!!
And as for us on the diet side of things, anything I just mentioned you shouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole!

I weighed myself about an hour ago and am actually and grateful up to 105 pounds, hoping this is a longer upward trend, will be something.
I have a soda just about every night, usually root beer. Always have one when I go out to eat. I eat "junk foods" during the evening and in between meals, too. I like to eat chocolate/caramel candy bars and chocolates, I was brought up not to eat too many sweats at one sitting.
Thank you for the suggestions, Jacki. I don't have my license (don't want to drive), so it isn't easy to have fast food too often, besides my parents; especially my mother have to stay away from fast food more often than he (they) used to.
