Ebay....Buy or Sell????

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Nov 09, 2003 10:12 pm

How many on here go to Ebay and bid on items? Have you ever won? Is it an addiction? I like going to ebay have found some items that may parents looking for - no longer made. I have tried selling - would love to be a ebay broker and sell stuff for other folks - just hadn't progressed that far in my goals. Curious to see what others have to say about Ebay.

LOL, I love eBay!! I love to just browse, I have sold one item, but my account is suspended right now because when I was offline I forgot to pay my whole fee of $1.81!!! So as soon as I get that paid and get going again I'd try to buy some things, lots of cool stuff on there! :D

HD thats where a broke comes in takes the pictures - post the items on ebay - completes the transaction and keeps a percentage of the sale and give you the rest of what the item sold for.....I have the digital camera and account on Ebay - its trying to find the time.....

We've bought close to 100 things from ebay. Old bike parts and a camera for me. My wife has bought craft things and clothes. We did most of our school shopping this year on ebay. Haven't been ripped off yet. We had one bad experience with a seller whose ad stated that they accepted money orders. When we sent it in they returned it, claiming that they only do credit cards and paypal. We got bad feedback and a warning over that deal.

I use exlusively USPS money orders and send stuff priority mail, with delivery confirmation. My wife isn't so rigorous. She sends grocery store money orders by regular mail, so far without incident.

I'd like to start selling, but there seems to be a lot of hoops to jump through, and we need to get a digital camera. A broker sounds like a good idea.

Ebay addict here! My feedback is at 162 although I know I've had more transactions than that (not everyone remembers to leave it). Mostly I'm a buyer (any Patty Duke movies I can find that I don't already have and other occasional collectibles or gifts for someone). I've sold a few things also.

I went to ebay one time. I was looking for the number 7 Titanic Plate. I broke my sisters by mistake. I tried to get one from the Danbury Mint but they told me they no longer made them. So it was off to ebay. Sure enough there was a man selling all of his plates. I put my bid in. My brother in law called me and told me to watch it the last few seconds because that is when they like to outbid you. Sure enough that is what "attaboy" tried to do. But, I was quicker. I WON the plate. I did not use paypal so the seller and I made other arrangements. My sister was VERY happy. thank goodness.

I only have one feedback and it is a positive one. lol.

Ebay doesn't offer anything I'd be looking for (knives, rifles, militaria)...besides, I'm leery of bidding/ordering anything online.

Stormy - I went to http://www.ebay.com and did a search on Splat. I saw several people selling the Splat board game. Take a look.

LOL Jacki - my incurable insomina has kept me wake in the middle of the night - now going on three weeks....I love ebay. Have to control my spending though - it can get out of hand. Bought a new digital camera off of there two weeks ago - I'm not disappointed.

Something I've always found very interesting on E-Bay is to type your hometown and state into the search engine. There are people who collect old postcards and sometimes offer some for resale. I've purchased several of these old postcards from the towns I used to live in. Many are views from way back in the 20's which I don't remember but some of those same buildings are still standing.

I buy and sell, but mostly buy. I look for deals. Somethings are sold at a good discount.

Addiction? You got it.

Ticka, any idea where I could find an Ebay broker? That could be the answer to my dilemma with all these books I want to sell.

Thanks!
