I believe this had a potential to be a really potent typhoon if it was NOT this irregular gargantuan of a tropical disturbance. It could be a Cat3+ like the models have shown last week but no, it became a huge Siamese twin baby straight out of a Resident Evil video game. Perhaps the worst looking tropical storm I've seen in this basin in the last 5 years...

This is one wet TC! The PAGASA station in our locality just recorded a staggering 6-hour rainfall amount of 311mm (and it's still pouring), which is not what I was really expecting. It's the wettest TC here since STY Mangkhut in 2018 (we got a 6-hour rainfall of 392mm at that time).

^Update: An extreme 24-hr rainfall of 500-600mm was recorded in Baguio City! That's even higher than the city's normal rainfall of 454.3mm for the whole month of October.

Hi is uh this a typo or something? Why does it say a dropsonde recorded 915mb in Tropical Storm Kompasu? I thought that thing looked way to bad for that pressure.
