Exactly... it is impossible to just choose one member to meet. In fact it's even unfair.

As some of you know I am not much of a person to meet people and converse with them, it is something that I find difficult to do. I believe Eric and Joshua can relate to this. :wink:

Those of you I have met in the chatroom, I wouldn't mind meeting. I believe and hope those I correspond with people online everyday would be easier for me to meet people in my area, if there were even people my age to meet here.

I was going through the whole member list myself.

I am one of the lucky few on Storm2k who through my years of studying weather actually made it a point to travel around the country to meet some of the weather crazies I found via the internet and other sources....and who found me, too.

From 1983 through 1993, I met nearly a thousand different weather folks in places like Asheville, NC, Pinkham Notch Camp, NH, Washington, DC, Boulder, CO, State College, PA, and Minneapolis, MN.

How I really miss that opportunity! For 3-4 days every fall, we would get together and talk about weather, have presentations by all sorts of weather folks, and then, after the evening dinner, hang out in someone's room and laugh til we tired ourselves out.

I know for a fact I would enjoy meeting so many of you...and, after some time by the fire that last night, would look forward to the next time around.

But for now, I feel as though I already know many of you...and I am thankful for your friendship.

My word, this is a toughie. I'm hard pressed to make it just one choice :o ... hmmmm ...

How about a top 15 list from me instead, in no particular order

1) The mods of S2K - for all the hard work they put into making S2K the site that it is today!

2) Dennis, azskyman, and Aslkahuna - You all there in AZ have a great sense of wisdom and I'd like to meet you all someday so we can share our knowledge about the monsoon.

3) Jacki - You sure kept me going in the bar and in the Games forum for many nights earlier this year. I'd like to see if you're really as energetic in real life as you are on S2K. :o :lol:

4) David (David s/n) - Also helped me out in the games forum. I'd like to meet you because of our many interesting AIM convos.

(you know what I mean

)

5) All the S2K forecasters (Luis, Harry, Jeremy, David) - For keeping us up to date on the upcoming weather happenings in the US and abroad; I'd like to thank them in person for their hard work.

6) Lindaloo and Miss Mary - I think of them as motherly figures in a sense. I want to let them know how much I admire them for that.

7) pojo - Quite a energetic gal. I would like to meet her because maybe she could get me into a Packers game. :lol:

8) Tom and Eric - I would like to meet them so we could see how similar we really are with our autism and Asperger's Syndrome. (hope you both don't mind me mentioning that :oops:

)

9) ghostwolf - For making a great chatroom better by the week.

10) DROliver - For donating the server space that we got a month or two ago. What a great guy, eh?

11) Aaron (VanceWxMan) - I've known him since I started at WxChat in September 2002 and I'd like to see his military memorabilia, as well as learn some weather stuff from him.

12) Rainband and vbhoutex - They deserve special mention apart from the other mods because they are very great people who stand for what they believe in and fight for their belifes. I am proud to know them.

13) TLC - I'd like to meet her because she helped me out at *that other board*; and I'd also like to lift her spirits since her health hasn't been the best lately.

14) Stormsfury, Derek Ortt, MWatkins - I'd like to meet them because they have a wealth of tropical knowledge that I find very intriguing.

and finally, last but most certainly NOT Least...

15) Chad, Marshall, and Ticka - Without them, none of us would be here today. I am happy that S2K is here; because when *you know what* happened, I probably would have been lost had it not been for this site. Thank you's to all three of you for making this site, and especially for upholding its high standards! I'd like to meet all three of you someday!
