We have yet to get a freeze in Central & Southern Texas, Snow for the Southern Plains, & the MJO is moving very slowly.

We could have the one cold blast this winter, & it will be really big, potentially rivaling this past February's Cold Wave.

Of course it's only Late December & one can sneak in in January, but the one in February could be huge . . .

Don't worry. I'll protect you all from the cold this winter.

I’m pretty sure the entirety of Central Texas has recorded below 32F this winter. Most of South Texas hasn’t recorded a freezing temp though. Was there not a freeze like 2 weeks ago?

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

I’m not so sure about that. I haven’t even hit the 30’s yet. I’ve had 40°F twice.

82F today at DFW. Tomorrow may end up a few degrees warmer 83-86F. FYI July 4th this year was 89/76F. This is so wrong in many ways regarding the Calendar.

I will admit heat has way overperformed this month. Turns out the torch during and after Christmas is gonna outdo the torch before holiday. It will be the hottest December on record for us and won't be even close.

No you won’t. I’m declaring war on you and all heat misers. The cold will overwhelm the ridge.

Yeah I work early every morning and usually deal with scraping frost off the truck every so often by now. This season has had none of that so far with none in sight and I am in northern Harris County!

You folks south of I10 don’t count ;)

Your climate is a lot different than us in MoCo up to the Brazos Valley.

I’ve been close to freezing a few times this year and may have touched it one morning.

Merry Christmas to all, and don't worry I have placed time release thermal charges through out Heat Misers wall of Winter Doom. By mid January there will be nothing to hold back the cold, and snow.

Merry Christmas everyone! While it certainly doesn't feel like it this year, I predict that January will be colder than December. Bold prediction, I know.

I’d put my net worth on the line that January is at least 7 degrees colder than December

I’m out in a rural area between Wharton and El Campo. I’m often 2-4 degrees cooler than in both of those towns and sometimes my thermostat reads the same as Huntsville’s and even the same as College Stations on occasions. But yeah, out in the rural areas up there it’s definitely a few degrees colder, especially that Conroe thermostat lol

I went hunting this afternoon and counted 12 different flocks of geese flying south. This is the first time seeing migration this year. Say what you want but animal behavior usually is a good indicator of things to come.
