And that’s residual snow depth at hour 222. Back it up to 150 and DFW is really looking nice.

Nope still clearing out the precip quick

Although I will say its an improvement up here. The 12z wasn't even a good snow at least it's a good snow now

DFW Met Evan Andrews just sounded the ICE alarm for DFW on Facebook not even 30 minutes ago. I think it's gonna get real. I'm actually surprised to see this, but I guess he wants to give people the weekend to prepare.

"While the northeast gets a blizzard, we get 65-70 degree temps this weekend through Tuesday.
We probably should enjoy them, as ARCTIC air is on the way mid-week...and with newer data now indicating lift holding back long enough...ICE (not snow) may be a real possibility in NTX."

Not a lot to add from 6z GFS, snowy, icy, and cold.

In other news DFW beat forecast and snuck in another freeze. 17 for the month of January.

Just wanted to note GFS brings the secondary cold surge over the weekend next week past the first blitz. Colder than Thurs-Fri. So far it's been consistent showing it while the other models are meh. Not going to lie it brings back eerie feels of 2021 when the GFS kept it at against the world.

It is eerily like last Feb. GFS and ICON consistent with other models struggling. My only hesitation is how unlikely it is to have once in 50 year events of of the same type in consecutive years, but then again that's my own bias. The atmosphere doesn't care that it already did this recently.
