Hopefully this turns over the snow soon. Heavy sleet is cool, but not that cool.

I had to look up where Albany is located. Nice to see the snow line extending that far south and east already.

We're down to 36 in Rockwall.
Are you looking for this map?

Correct me if I’m wrong but if it’s 36 in Rockwall then that Freezing Line might be about 6 hours ahead of schedule.
Also what’s going on with DFW traffic. Just looked on Google Maps and it looks like a sea of red & highway closures!!
They have closed all of the TEXpress toll lanes. A good portion of those lanes are elevated.

Apparently Brownwood just transitioned over to FRZ rain. 32F there. They're just 100 miles away and I'm still somehow sitting at 44F and rain lol.

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

.44" of rain on my weather station so far today in Weatherford and currently at 32.1 degrees. Patiently waiting for a changeover to sleet.. Not looking forward to FRZR.

RGEM looks pretty cold too Saturday. So technically GFS isn't alone. For it to happen, ice pack will need to be fairly thick (could be) with basically no wind or clouds (also could be with HP sitting overhead) for maximum radiational cooling.

About a half inch accumulation of sleet and another half of snow right now. Would have liked some more by now but snow has picked up again and heavier stuff is on the way.

I've been only getting sleet right now, but that's going to change evenutally.

Sitting directly under that 17 isn't so cool.

Is the forum in Storm Mode yet? Need to auto-delete any post that uses those stupid Weather Channel fake storm names.

That's interesting you're getting sleet that far north (relative to us in TX). All the stations around I see report snow.

Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
Well, it is about 33 based on nearby stations (have to replace mine). Close. A few ice pellet sounds.
Getting close. Probably will changeover about 6:30ish, which is pretty aggressive with even all the models yesterday.
Took 15 minutes longer to get home. People left work early.
